Playing mobile games helped bring esports to India in the beginning. Among teenagers and college students, PUBG Mobile, Free Fire and Call of Duty: Mobile became very popular. People play games and stream their matches through YouTube, Loco and Rooter. Watching experienced players and picking up fresh approaches is something many viewers like. A number of streamers are so popular that they have millions of followers and earn from ads and donations.

Number of large businesses and investors now support the industry. Many tournaments now offer big payments and playing esports is giving players fame like top professional athletes. Lots of fans have attended live esports events in stadiums in Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru. Many colleges and schools are now setting up esports clubs and starting competitions.

Startups Leading the Way

Many Indian startups are now focusing on esports. These companies are building apps, organizing tournaments, and creating tools for gamers. One of the leading names is Nodwin Gaming, which hosts large-scale esports events in India and across South Asia. They organize tournaments for games like Valorant, BGMI (Battlegrounds Mobile India), and CS:GO.

Another big name is JetSynthesys, which has invested in both gaming and esports. They created Nazar Battlegrounds, an esports platform that focuses on mobile gaming competitions. Upthrust Esports is another growing startup that offers both online and offline gaming events for professional and amateur players.

There are platforms that provide support for people creating content. Loco, which comes from India, is a game-streaming platform. Indian players can interact with fans and start careers as streamers using live streaming. Rooter is a popular platform that lets Indian game streamers broadcast in several languages.

In the middle of all this growth, the term e-sports betting platforms has also become more visible in discussions online. Due to the growing popularity of esports, many users are now participating in online gaming competitions in different ways. Some even place bets on their favorite games or players just for fun or to feel more involved. This growing interest reflects how deeply fans are becoming involved in the esports ecosystem, not just as players or viewers, but as active participants in the culture.

Top Indian Esports Teams

Teams in esports, just like in cricket or football, take part in both national and international competitions. A well-known Indian team is Global Esports. Mumbai is where this roster, playing Valorant, CS:GO and Overwatch. Asian tournaments have seen them play and they are steadily growing in popularity.

Indian gamer Mortal is one of the most popular names in the Indian gaming community. He has many subscribers on YouTube and acts as a role model for kids into gaming.
  • GodLike Esports is another team that has achieved major achievements in mobile gaming. Many major global competitions have seen them represent India and they are famous for playing fast and bringing strong teams.

In India, there are now esports teams for women being established. It demonstrates that the industry is opening the door to more people.

Platforms Powering the Industry

The gaming platforms form the foundation for the esports industry. Platforms such as these provide the games, allow streaming live and bring together fans and players. Game streaming in India is still mostly done on YouTube Gaming, however, Indian alternatives are becoming more popular.

  • Loco and Rooter are the two biggest Indian platforms for local gamers and streamers. In addition, they give chat features, special bonuses and online forums for followers to support their favorite clubs and players.
  • Gamerji is an interesting alternative for your needs. People can participate in tournaments using their phones and win rewards. People who want to start playing esports can use the platform because it houses numerous games.

Game publishers like Krafton (for BGMI) and Riot Games (for Valorant) are also investing in the Indian market by creating dedicated servers, holding regular tournaments, and promoting local talent.

The Future of Indian Esports

Esports in India is set for growth in the months and years to come. Investor interest is growing and some schools are now offering gaming as something for students to do outside of class. The government is now seeing esports as a real sport, which might result in better regulations and more help for players.

There’s more to esports than just playing computer games. Part of it is having coaches, analysts, streamers, commentators and event organizers. This gives Indian youth with tech skills many opportunities to work.

If the esports industry in India stresses fairness, ability and progress, it can take on the best teams worldwide. The nation has access to players, interest and platforms for sports. The next step is designing an ecosystem that is both sustainable and secure for everyone.
